J. M. Barrie (May 9, 1860 - June 19, 1937)
Sir James Matthew Barrie attended Edinburgh University alongside Arthur Conan Doyle and Robert Louis Stevenson. His acquaintance with the Llewelyn-Davies family led to the writing of the play "Peter and Wendy," later adapted into the children's book "Peter Pan." In 1924, he released copyright of this play to the Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. He died in 1937, having survived two of the boys for whom "Peter Pan" was originally written.
