Bertrand Russell (May 18, 1872 - Feb. 2, 1970)
Bertrand Arthur William Russell was a politician, logicial, mathematician, and philosopher who did the majority of his work in the 20th century. He claimed that mathematics brought him so much joy that, in his youth, the anticipation of learning more was the only thing keeping him from suicide. He is considered one of the founders of analytic philosophy, focusing on breaking down philosophical tenets into basic, easier-to-understand ideas.
