Henry Kendall (April 18, 1839 - Aug. 1, 1882)
Henry Clarence Kendall received only a small amount of education, and went on to take on a clerkship in his early 20s. He combined this work with journalism, as well as writing poetry on the side. Most of his poems focused on nature, especially Australian wildlife. Before his death in 1882, he spent a short time as a forest inspector. He was buried in Sydney, with his grave overlooking the sea.
