Lewis Carroll (Jan. 27, 1832 - Jan. 14, 1898)
Born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson, Carroll was an Anglican clergyman, photographer, and mathematician before he began writing his fanciful children's books. "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," easily his most famous work, was written to entertain young Alice Liddell and her two sisters Lorina and Edith. During his career, he also wrote many mathematical papers and treatises under his real name. He is also considered one of the best photographers of the Victorian era.
